Mandasmita – home for orphan girls

Too many lives at stake here. Unknown to us… they are living yet dying in a remote area of the country.

Registered Trusts/NGOs handling specifically children are approximately 604 in India.

A very small percentage of the above will be exclusive for girl children which means that close to 12 million girl children live without parents in India.

The facts stare at us.  India, today, faces the bleak truth of an entire generation growing parentless.

Every tiny gesture of help by the millions of people who have the luxury of a home, a family, love, friends, can significantly mend the growing gap of the ‘haves’ and ‘have not’s in the society.

Such efforts are especially helpful and needed in remote corners of metro cities, villages, towns and urban areas where the NGO or Charitable organizations’ cover falls short to protect these children.

Project Mandismita

All children are divine’s gift to mankind, whether born in poor families or are unwanted at birth.

Their spirit and innocence must be protected and nurtured at all costs. Mandasmita, is a loving and unconditional effort of Soul Searchers to etch smiles again on the faces of the ‘unwanted’ children.

Envisioned as a loving home for the girl children. Mandasmita offers soul sustenance besides providing basic amenities, education and nurturing to regain childhood and completeness.

Inspired by Prabhu Maitreya – Founder of Soul Searchers, Mandasmita is part of a spiritual village called Dharmakshetra poised to come up at the cosmic energy center in Keelveeranam, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu in India.

Why the Girl Child?

The villages around this place are largely into farming but lack of sufficient rains, the families are seen gradually depending upon other means to earn a living increasing helplessness and fewer resources to fall back on.

Poverty is at hand here. And in such a scenario, it is the feminine gender that bears the major impact.

Girls are the first ones to be taken out of school to work for the family in times of hardships. Keeping girls in school has been shown to raise family income, reduce child and maternal mortality and result in lower child marriage and fertility rates. (Unicef)

Counseling, providing normal and loving atmosphere, allowing the children be just that… are a few pillars that Mandasmita bases its foundation upon.
